Angry Bird Science Summer Camp

Camp Manitowa - Mad Science 3,2,1...BLAST OFF Camp

This action packed Mad Science Camp will focus on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. After learning the model rocket safety code, campers will build and launch several different rockets including a boggle rocket that will build from scratch!

Dino Dig Science Camp

Grab your chisels and hammers as we embark on an exploration of prehistoric proportion! Uncover a fantastic learning adventure as Jason Lindsey aka "Mr. Science", turns one of our classrooms into a dinosaur dig. In just five days, campers will learn everything from what dinosaurs had for dinner to how to excavate dinosaur bones and even how to piece together a dinosaur skeleton!

Junior Crime Scene Investigation

We’ve all watched the popular TV show CSI, but have you ever wondered what really happens to the evidence collected from a real crime scene? Where does it go, how does it tell a story, and most importantly, how can it be used to solve the crime? Jason Lindsey aka “Mr. Science” will turn one of our classrooms into a crime scene and your child will help solve the crime in just five days. Students will learn about cutting-edge forensic science practices and procedures, such as DNA profiling, digital imaging, and crime scene reconstruction.a

Special Populations Camp

Paducah Parks Services offers a summer camp specifically for children with mild to moderate disabilities.  The camp is for children ages 6 through 18.  Camp activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, field trips, parties, and swimming at the Noble Park Pool.  

Dates: June 4 - August 3, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Be an out-of-this world artist! Students will explore outer space themes through the use of various color medias. Design methods will include the use of pastels, scratchboard and paper.

Take a creative trip through the universe! Students will explore space themes through the use of various color media. 2-D projects will include designing, cutting, and applying pastel stencils and working with paper mosaic.

Space Quest CSI Camp

Become a Challenger Special Investigator. Read the ransom note and follow the fingerprints, fibers and other clues. You will use your powers of observation and conduct scientific tests to help solve the mystery of the missing Mars rocks.

Space Quest Mission to Mars Camp

Be the first human on Mars! Campers will travel to the Red Planet during a Voyage to Mars™ mission in our hands-on simulator. After arriving on Mars, they will build a life-size colony where they will live, work and train like real planetary astronauts.

Space Quest Underwater Astronaut Camp

Learn all about how astronauts train underwater to simulate working in space! Participants will receive basic SCUBA instruction (in a swimming pool) from Mermet Springs , then participate in an underwater astronaut training program.  Participants must be able to swim and medically fit to dive.

Wednesdays on the Waterfront

The River Discovery Center offers an all-day educational and fun summer camp. Campers bring a sack lunch and drinks and ice cream are provided. Programs offered for different camp dates include animal visits, science experiments, games, art projects, special guest presenters, and time spent in the boat simulator.
