Mazzone Communications is a marketing and communications firm located in Western Kentucky. Darlene Mazzone, president, was formerly a partner in LaneMazzone & Associates, a full service advertising agency, established in 1985. The firm successfully handled a client base over a 10-year period which included both regional and national accounts. The company also initiated several print products of its own including a municipal magazine for Paducah, Kentucky called PADUCAH LIFE Magazine. The company now also publishes
The Wedding Book, an annual special edition.
The original firm was instrumental in the launching of a mid-American boating magazine (Heartland Boating) and has also handled the design and pre-press of the nationally distributed Bass Fishing Magazine. In 1990, the firm created the design format and initial marketing materials for a new publication called Tails for the formal-wear industry.
The firm won numerous awards presented by the American Federation of Advertising Agencies and has been twice featured in Print magazine, the design industry’s annual “best of design” publication. In 1990, a package design by the firm for its client, Story’s Gourmet Foods, Inc. was chosen as one of the top five best designed product labels at the International Fancy Food and Confection Show in New York City. In 1989, the firm captured the “Best of Show” award at the Ashland Regional Addy Competition for its profile piece for the Greater Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.
In 2005, the firm’s work on Heritage Bank’s “Bankers & Neighbors” campaign was the cover story of
Financial Advertising Review, a national trade publication for banks, savings and loans and credit unions. The six-page layout profiled the concept developed by Mazzone Communications for Heritage Bank’s highly successful print advertising campaign—a positioning statement which is still in current use.
