Matching People with Prose

So, here’s something you don’t see every day? But honestly, where else would you look for a cookbook if not in the KITCHEN!

Located in the heart of Lone Oak, the quaint used bookstore, Pages Turned, is the product of a dream that developed for decades in the back of Kim Ferguson’s mind.

“I had often thought about owning a bookstore,” Kim says. “I knew about books, but not much about business. I was scared, I talked myself into it, and then my husband suggested renting a cute and convenient little house on Lone Oak Road.”

The bookshop features two floors filled with fiction and nonfiction, science fiction, history, poetry, romance, you name it!

Cleverly, collected cookbooks can be culled from the kitchen, while bathroom readers reside in the restroom. “Those actually sell pretty quickly,’ Kim says with a laugh. But classes are still her best sellers.

The best part, Kim says, is having a book that someone has been looking for. She keeps a folder for folks foraging for that special title. “Recently a woman wanting an illustrated copy of Alice in Wonderland came in, and the very next day two copies arrived! That’s the best part for me. When I see a book I know there is someone who wants it.”
